Spare tire or steering wheel?

Sometimes I wonder why we treat prayer like a spare tire. Something we keep tucked away… hidden… only pulled out when life breaks down on the side of the road. When tire blows. When the plans fall apart. When the weight becomes too heavy to carry alone. Only then does it seem like we reach for prayer. But prayer was never meant to sit in the trunk of our lives. Prayer is meant to be the steering wheel. Something we hold onto tightly everyday — letting God guide every turn, every road, and every mile of our journey. We hold our phones in our hands like it’s about to be taken. So why can’t we hold on to prayer like we hold our phones? 1 Thessalonians 5:17 [KJV]  “Pray without ceasing” Don’t treat prayer like a spare tire you can only reach for in emergencies. Hold onto it like a steering wheel. Let God guide the direction of your life, not just rescue you when the road breaks down.

Peace in the storm

Life ….  It never seems to go as planned.  I’ve learned that especially recently. One moment everything feels okay-even good- and the next its like, “What in the world just happened?” So what’s the real question here? How do we find peace in the middle of the all this? 2 Timothy 1:7 say’s , “ For God hat not given us the sprit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.”  Fear does not come from God. The enemy loves when we live in worry. He thrives when we are anxious and overwhelmed. But God gives us power when we feel weak. Love when we feel alone. And a sound mind when our thoughts are spiraling. When we hold onto worry, we’re giving the enemy room to grow louder. But when we bring our fears to God in prayer, something shifts. Peace doesn’t always remove the storm — but it anchors us in the middle of it. So why keep carrying what God is willing to take from us? There have been nights recently where my thoughts wouldn’t quite down… I’ve prayed. I’ve re...

Why does faith come to a dead end?

Why does faith come to a dead end ? We all wonder why our faith sometimes fizzles out. But why do we let it happen? We go to church and feel that wonderful pull— the urge to as God to forgive us, to draw closer to Him. We attend regularly… and then one service, something comes up. We don’t go. Then it becomes,” I’ll go next time.” And before we know it, we’re stuck in a vicious cycle. But why do even let it get that far? There is spiritual warfare. God allows test to see what we will do. Sometimes we pass. Sometimes we don’t. And the enemy? He wants nothing more than to pull us away. Let’s be honest— time is running out. The stronger our faith becomes, the closer we grow to God — and the more the enemy will try to attack. That’s why we must stay rooted. Stay church. Stay in community. Church friends matter. When we feel like we’re slipping away, they can help pull us back. We are saved by grace through faith — not by something shallow or temporary.  So what is our purpose? Ou...
